Membrane Switch

A) Tactile membrane switches:
Custom built as per requirement. Basic terminology : Graphic Overlay, Graphic adhesive, Dome retainer, Spacer, Metal domes mounted on Circuit panel, back adhesive. Tactile membrane switches - For better feedback. Consists of a PCB / circuit panel with a metal dome mounted on it. Typical construction and terminology as shown in drawing below

Metal domes: Tactile membrane switches incorporate a metal dome to achieve the desired tactile response. Using different Sizes of metal domes will vary the actuation force. Metal domes come in a variety of shapes and sizes with actuation forces between 180 to 700 grams and are available in variety of diameters from 6mm to 20mm.				Application: Ideal for application where users need the feedback, To recognize whether the contact is achieved or not. Fabrication: Embossed - for better tactile feedback, life and aesthetics.

IMP SUMMARY:

A) Embossing Guidelines: hard-tooled emboss.
Application: raised areas to provide functional and aesthetic features to an overlay and to provide a tactile feel. Raised LED window areas for earlier detection when viewed from the side, logos or text to create three-dimensional effects for overlays or label constructions.
Embossed polyester has more than 20 times the flex life of polycarbonate and better tactile response. This performance is due to the superior mechanical properties of polyester film.
